STEPHEN MACAULEY, Principal For over 26 years, Stephen Macauley has continued to set new standards of excellence in real estate development. An Englishman by birth and a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Macauley’s award winning work has enhanced the quality and environment of neighborhood life and created holistic communities. Mr. Macauley has developed more than 26 mixed-use and mixed income communities across metro Atlanta, including Legacy Park and Ridenour in Cobb County, Walden Park and Lakes of Cedar Grove in South Fulton County and Harmony on the Lakes and Laurel Canyon in Cherokee County. Through Mr. Macauley’s work, his communities have gained recognition in local and national media, including the Atlanta Regional Commission, CNN, LIFE Magazine and the National Association of Home Builders. This recognition has led to multiple awards and accolades, including Best New Community by the National Association of Home Builders and the Development of Excellence Award by Atlanta Regional Commission. In recent years, Mr. Macauley has played a central role in master planning urban and residential sites around metro Atlanta including Roswell, Chamblee, Tucker, LaGrange, South Cobb, West Atlanta and others. Most notably, Mr. Macauley’s partnership has brought to life the planned transformation of the 165-acre former General Motors Assembly Plant, known as Assembly, into a sustainable community that will become a cultural, professional and residential hub of the City of Doraville, as well as the Olmsted, a mixed-use development in downtown Chamblee that is setting the standard for future development in the area.

ASHISH BAGLE Ashish is a graduate of the University of Georgia majoring in Business Management. After graduating in 2009, he worked in the green building industry providing consulting to some of the largest commercial building owners in the country. Ashish joined Macauley Investments in August 2016 as a Project Manager. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects as well as contributing to the overarching strategy of both Macauley’s corporate operations as well as individual development projects. Ashish is active within ULI and the Congress for New Urbanism. He resides in the Kirkwood neighborhood in Atlanta with his wife Sarah and their son (dog) Roscoe.

JAMES L. RHODEN III Jay is a founding principal of The Macallan Group and focuses on development and implementation of the overall portfolio strategy, business development, community relations, and due diligence with respect to new company formation and deal opportunities. Jay also oversees all asset and program management, legal/contract issues, compliance issues, and serves as the managing broker of Macallan Real Estate, LLC (licensed in Georgia, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina). An Atlanta native, Jay holds J.D., M.B.A. and B.A. degrees from the University of Florida, and has focused his career on commercial and residential real estate construction and development. He also is heavily involved in civic and community affairs and currently serves as a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Council for Quality Growth, the Florida Bar, and the Regional Civic League. He also is past president of The Commerce Club’s New Century Forum, a past member of the Commerce Club Operating Board, and is a graduate of Leadership Cobb, Regional Leadership Institute, and the ULI Center for Leadership. Jay has also served for over fifteen years as a local reserve law enforcement officer.

Mr. Brooks went on to become President and Co-Owner of The Landmarks Group, Inc., which developed, owned, leased and managed 13 million square feet of mixed-used commercial real estate throughout the southeast. The best well-known development of The Landmarks Group is Concourse and the “King and Queen” towers in North Atlanta. Mr. Brooks served as Senior Vice President and Investment Committee Member for Beacon Properties Corporation, a publicly traded real estate investment trust that developed, owned and managed 26 million square feet of mixed-used commercial real estate nationwide. Mr. Brooks performed as Chief Executive of Beacon Properties Southeast and Beacon Properties Mid-Atlantic. Mr. Brooks previously served as an advisor and partner to The Macauley Companies, developers of master planned residential communities in metropolitan Atlanta. He now serves as an advisor and broker to Macauley Investments, developers of town centers and townships in metropolitan Atlanta.

BRENDAN J. MCCARTHY Brendan obtained his B.A. and J.D. degrees from The College of William and Mary.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Georgia, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.  Brendan’s legal career has involved the representation of clients in all phases of the construction and development industries.  Brendan and his family are active supporters of The March of Dimes.  He resides in Kennesaw with his wife and two children, where they are members of Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. 

BRENDAN J. MCCARTHY

Brendan obtained his B.A. and J.D. degrees from The College of William and Mary.  He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Georgia, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. 

Brendan’s legal career has involved the representation of clients in all phases of the construction and development industries.  Brendan and his family are active supporters of The March of Dimes.  He resides in Kennesaw with his wife and two children, where they are members of Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. 

MICHELE L. HARRY Michele is the Vice President of The Macallan Group and oversees the marketing and branding strategy as well as internal/external communications, website design and development, event management, project photography, market research, advertising, social media, and public relations. In addition, she also assists in developing organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives. Manages talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations. She has over 18 years of marketing expertise and has worked for some of the most successful real estate and construction firms in Atlanta. Michele is a graduate of the 2014-2015 ULI Center for Leadership class. She lives in Atlanta with her husband Kevin Harry and in her free time volunteers at her favorite charitable organizations and pursues her love of photography.
